88 Days of Fortune: The shapes of Sound @ The Smiling Buddha Lounge { 961 College st } Friday, December 4, 2009

Its nice when the party is just up the street, a small trek to hear big tunes. The collective 88 Days of Fortune hosted their monthly jam with many talent artists. Most who I had the pleasure of hearing at Manifesto and was excited to hear again. They delivered slick rhymes, soulful voices, poppn tunes, and unique sounds. I've been to many parties at the Loft on Adelaide, always wicked time. DJs spinning good tunes till the wee hours of the morning, and a bar to get your drink on. This time was no exception, by the time I got there the place was packed and the vibe was hype. Shot some pics then partied.

Retox w/ Wax Nostalgic and DJ Sawtay @ Unit { 1198 Queen St. West}

On Friday night I went to Unit, this little bar on Queen st next to the Gladstone. If you have never been there though, you probable wouldn't know it was there. Wax Nostalgic was hosting their monthly RETOX party. I have been to Retox a bunch of times and always have a really good night, Brock Boogie & InVerse, spinning sick tunes that keep me dancing all night long. Funk, soul, rock steady, 80's boogie & classic hip-hop, the 11th Retox event did not disappoint! With special guest DJ Sawtay the night got off to a sweet start!

After the Main Event I stopped at home to eat and pretty myself up a little. Excited to party, to dance, after taking photos for days. I brought my camera just in case though.
When I arrived, the energy in the room was hyped, Rich Kidd was on stage. I push to the front pull out my camera and capture the madness.

This was my first Manifesto, it was an amazing experience. It was an honor to be apart of the official Manifesto documentation team. (Thanks Meghan J) To work alongside other talented photographers and videographers, seeing the festival from behind the scenes, and shooting in pit! I met lots of cool people and saw wicked talent. Main Event @ Nathan Phillips Square
September 20th 2009

At the Main event I was shooting in the pit at the front of the stage. Capturing them spit poetry, spin beats, create energy, and groove across the stage, creating an image of pixels, from light, dark, form, and inspiration. This is The Manifesto Festival though the lens of Melissa Moffat.
